is the water free?

Privacy

Privacy, in plain words

Is the water free? (isthewaterfree.com) is run from the UK by Seb. Questions or requests: [email protected].

Analytics

We use PostHog, hosted in the EU, to count visits and see which pages help people. Until you say yes in the banner, it runs without cookies and keeps nothing on your device. If you say yes, it may also record heatmaps and anonymised session replays (where people click and scroll), and it stores an identifier in your browser. You can change your mind by clearing this site's data in your browser.

Forms

If you report what you paid or ask for a correction, we keep what you send us (and your email if you give it) to check the report and reply. Report forms are hosted by Tally. We don't sell or share what you send.

Booking links

Some links to booking sites may earn us a commission. If you follow one, that site and its partners may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies. A commission never changes a verdict.

The hotel data

Our answers come from public sources: hotel listings, guest reviews and forum posts, hotels' own sites and menus. We quote short extracts with a link to the source and show guests by source, not by name. If you wrote a review we quote and want it removed, email us and we'll take it down.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Email [email protected]. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
